A History of Everyday Legal

John and Andy met in London for lunch in the Spring of 2019. This would be the first time they had seen each other in many years. Andy had previously worked at Saga PLC as IT Director on several executive boards. John, previously on statutory boards of The Automobile Association and Saga Group Limited, had been a Director of his advisory company since leaving the board of McCarthy & Stone in 2014.

The lunch was intended as both a catch up and a brainstorming session to formulate and establish any ideas which they could both progress, utilising their obvious abilities and experience.

Everyday Legal was borne out of this meeting.

After further meetings (using the facilities kindly afforded by Messrs Lewis Silkin of Chancery Lane) both went to work – John working on the legal side, compiling and drawing up legal content. Simultaneously, Andy was drawing up the design for the website and its features. Both agreed that the public needed a quick and easy entry into the world of contracts which was both affordable but of high quality.

Everyday Legal was registered as a trademark.

Everyday Legal Limited was incorporated.

Work intensifies on the completion of phase 1 of the extensive legal template database and the building of the website; incorporating the latest legal thinking and contemporary approaches to best of breed on-line digital services.

Live testing takes place. Everything is geared for the launch of Everyday Legal (via www.everyday-legal.co.uk).
